A Great Recipe!
I just made the best Oatmeal bars and they were very easy and fast! These bars make a great snack or breakfast! They are healthy and homemade! I used Spelt Flour, which is the highest protein flour. You can add in whatever you like:
Preheat the oven to 325 degrees. Combine 1 cup of rolled oats; 1 cup or spelt or whole wheat flour; 1/2 c brown sugar; 1/4 tsp of salt; 1/4 tsp. baking soda; 1/4 tsp of cinnamon, 1/4 cup of sunflower seeds; 1/4 cup of dried cranberries. (this is where you can add whatevere you like; ie: coconut, chocolate chips, other dried fruit, etc).
Add 1/2 c. of canola oil and 3 tbsp. of orange juice (freshly squeezed works best). Mix until all moist. Add all the mixture to an 8 X 8 pan that is lightly greased. Bake for 30 minutes. Store in an airtight container in the fridge.
They are so yummy. Each bar has 3 g. of protein (more depending on what you add), 2 grams of fiber and only 190 calories!
