I DIG LOVE

Love is all you Need; Love is all you Need

This is not a hippy concept, this is not a specific to a religion, this is life. Love is real and powerful.  Love can save the world, Love can cure you and others, Love is all you need!  I am not talking about boyfriend/girlfriend love or love of material things.  I am talking about compassion, kindness and friendliness towards all.  We tend to see the opposite in our world.  Unfortunately, we see anger, tension and war.  Where are we going wrong?  Can Love really heal the world?  Why not try it and find out for ourselves!

Patanjali's Yoga Sutra says "Through kindness and friendliness, strength comes".

"Hatred does not cease by hatred, but only by love; this is the eternal rule."- Buddha

"All major religious traditions carry the same message; that is love, compassion and forgiveness.  The important things is that they should be a part of our daily lives" - Dalai Lama

"Love your neighbor as yourself.  There is no greater commandment than this" -Mark 12:31

"A person's a person, no matter how small" - Horton

I have found that to truly spread love, you must love yourself!  That can be a hard concept in a world that is always telling you that you are not skinny enough, pretty enough, rich enough, etc.  We have to get way past our outer form to know and love who we really are.

Summer time always brings this struggle back to our lives. It is hard to be at the beach in your bikini and not compare your body to others.  "Am I as skinny as her?" or "I am way skinnier than she is!".  It is sad but true.  We all do it.  We are the hardest judges on our own bodies.

With practice, you can begin catching yourself doing this and know that Your body is not YOU!  Your outfit is not YOU.  Your job is not YOU.  Your bank account is not YOU. You can distinguish between what qualities make you who you are and which do not.

It is true that love is contagious. Once you love yourself, you begin to see others as the same as you.  You begin to love all beings, big or small.  You smile at strangers on the street because you know that they are the same as you.  You help out an older person at the grocery store or give a thirsty dog some water on a hot day.  When you see a roly poly in your office, you walk down a flight of stairs just to make sure it gets outside safely and lives.  These are all acts of love.  They are such small acts that make such a huge difference.  A simple smile can change your whole attitude, a hug can change your whole day!  Imagine if we began spreading love in our daily lives and it caught on like wild fire.  Imagine if large scale decisions made by businesses or governments were made by the heart.  What kind of a world would we live in?

"You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one" .  Join the love revolution.  It is an easy and fun ride.

Peace to All
Love to All
