Cats Love Veggies Too!

I have a cat named Puddin' that is 16 years old.  I have had her since she was a little kitten.  Puddin' is our baby!  She is the center of our household and we love her very much.  We had another cat named Smokey, who was my husband's childhood cat.  He passed away two years ago at the age of 16 and we all miss him, even Puddin!

My husband and I eat very healthy and consciously and we extend that to Puddin' as well.  Puddin lives a very healthy and happy life.  I believe that if we choose to take on a pet, it is our responsibility to keep them safe and healthy.  At 16 years old, she thrives off good food and lots of love!

This is Puddin and Smokey:

It is very important to know what is in your pet food that you buy.  Many pet foods contain fillers and by products that are not healthy.  Many pet food companies test cruelly on cats or dogs!  Imagine that, a pet food company that boasts to be looking out for pet's interests and then enslaves them and tests on their bodies.  I do not want to purchase and support any of this.  Your pet does not deserve this either.  These companies take the "leftovers" of slaughtered animals and add fillers, use great advertising, charge a lot of money and encourage you to buy it.  Iams is famous for this.  They have been cited on so many cases of animal cruelty and insufficient nutrients in their food,  yet, they spend millions on advertising  making you believe they care about animals.  This is why you have to do your research and read labels!

When I buy cat food, I read the ingredients just as I do when I buy our food.
Puddin Eats Halo for her dry and wet food.  Here are the ingredients:
Salmon, Eggs, Pea Protein, Oats, Pearled Barley, Vegetable Broth, Chicken Fat (preserved with mixed tocopherols and citric acid), Whole Peas, Chicken Liver, Chicken, Flax Seed, Salmon Oil (preserved with mixed tocopherols), Pea Fiber, Sweet Potatoes, Apples, Blueberries, Green Beans, Carrots, Cranberries, Zucchini, Alfalfa, Inulin, Calcium Sulfate, Potassium Chloride, Taurine, Salt, Vitamins (Folic Acid, Vitamin A Supplement, Vitamin D3 Supplement, Vitamin E Supplement, Choline Bitartrate, Niacin, d-Calcium Pantothenate, Ascorbic Acid, Riboflavin Supplement, Thiamine Mononitrate, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride, Biotin), Minerals (Zinc Proteinate, Iron Proteinate, Cobalt Proteinate, Copper Proteinate, Manganese Proteinate, Calcium Iodate, Sodium Selenite), Lactobacillus acidophilus, Bifidobacterium longum, Enterococcus faecium, Lactobacillus plantarum.
Notice that the first ingredient is actual Salmon.  Also note the amount of fruits and vegetables; Whole Peas, Sweet Potatoes, Green beans, carrots, Zucchini, Apples, Blueberries, Cranberries!  Puddin' LOVES peas too, she does not however, like carrots! (she leaves them in her bowl!)

Here are her treats!

She LOVES Happy Hips by: Catswell.  They are made with free ranged chicken and contain Glucosamine and Chondroitin for her joints.  They have no added hormones, antibiotics, fillers or byproducts.
Her Natural Purrz have no wheat, corn or soy, no byproducts or added fat.

Since Puddin has began eating Halo and other natural products, she has had a taste for veggies.  She eats peas and has recently started digging Kale!  She likes roasted kale the best.

Puddin' eating Kale!

Just remember that your pet is your best friend!  They look to you to take care of them and give them the very best!  Read labels, make good choices!  With the right nutrition, they can live long, happy lives!

Above all, show your pet lots of LOVE!!!!!!!
